Teen Gothic

Those of you who play video games, what goth songs have you encountered in them?

In GTA IV one radio station plays Sisters of Mercy's Dominion

Hello!! I’m new to goth music and have been going down lists and lists of the most recommended classic songs and bands. Of Lilies and Remains is one of the songs that truly clicked for me. The bassline, the innovative melody, the lyrics, the weird instruments… it sounds so fresh and unlike anything I’ve ever heard before. I can’t even describe how I’m supposed to feel when listening to the song, it’s not sad and moody, nor overly funky and upbeat, it just has this very specific vibe that carries this calm, manic energy.

It feels so strange to ask how do I go about looking for music in the same genre, considering it’s clearly under the goth umbrella. I just have yet to encounter any other songs like that! Any recommendations will be highly appreciated

I get to work before the sun comes up, so I’m always driving in the dark. I know it’s weird, but I’m making a specific playlist for this 😂

So, what are some songs that just hit different when you listen to them in the dark?

As the title says, what are your favourite goth or goth adjacent songs to play on bass?

I'm a somewhat beginner bass player (I've only been playing for 2 years) and wanted to learn some new songs to expand my repertoire.

I would count any song named after darkness, black cats, creatures of the night or Halloween itself as Halloween themed.

Some of the songs already on my playlist are: Bloodsucker by Paralyzed Age Ghost Dance Party by The Knutz Evil by 45 Grave Spellbound by Siouxsie and the Banshees …

I'd be grateful for any good recommendations!!

I especially love and your heart will be also, it’s like if Pink Floyd had a goth phase and it’s so good

Most goth music is in a minor key. Makes sense, right.

Can you think of any songs that are in a major key? Which embody the genre well?

Curious ~ I can’t think of many off the top of my head.

I lost my great grandmother last night & would appreciate some song recommendations that I can relate to

Preferably not any romantic songs please🤍

Give me your faves

Pain is a must, then I’d go for Amphetamine Logic by Sisters and Nocturne by Paralysed Age
